In every community, there are unsung heroes working tirelessly to ensure the well-being of residents. In North Cowichan, we are fortunate to have a group of dedicated individuals, the Boots-on-the-Ground staff, who consistently go above and beyond the call of duty. In our neighbourhood we have dealt with the parks, operations, and engineering staff often as we have had city pipes burst multiple times, sewer backups, and park needs.
The North Cowichan staff’s ability to swiftly address emergencies is a standout quality. In the face of multiple pipe bursts, their prompt response not only prevented further damage but also showcased their genuine concern for our community’s well-being. Their proactive approach and quick decision-making have undoubtedly saved homes and alleviated the stress of residents facing unforeseen challenges.
These workers have come at all hours, lent their hand and tools to homeowners whose houses were starting to flood, and spent hours all together speaking with residents. I can’t say enough about these folks! They always follow up with requests/issues, and are extremely professional, and outright just nice people! These workers have shown care and concern for our/their community. Their willingness to engage with residents, listen to concerns, and offer solutions is appreciated. During a post-windstorm cleanup, they not only removed dangerous limbs but also took the time to chat with worried onlookers. Because of this personal touch they’ve formed a unique bond with our community.
My assumption, when I get great customer service from a happy worker, is that they must really like their job. If this is the case, kudos to North Cowichan for their employee relations! If only all large corporations could have this type of customer service from those that work directly with customers!
As we approach the festive season, it’s only fitting to express our gratitude to the Boots-on-the-Ground North Cowichan staff for their invaluable contributions to our community. Their passion for their work, their professionalism, and their genuine care for residents is appreciated. To the unsung heroes of North Cowichan, we say thank you for being part of the backbone of our community. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
